Into the Wild – Middle School Retreat

February 17 - February 18, 2018

This overnight event will take place at Beach Lake Lodge in Chugiak. We will be ice-fishing (taught by Robert Gruszynski), ice-skating (kids will need to bring skates), playing some winter games, enjoying fire-pit fun, making s’mores with mystery toppings and hearing from guest speaker- Ken Thomas!!  We will be learning the basics of winter survival, building a shelter, finding water, building a fire, and learning signs and prevention of hypothermia taught by Cory Alverts and Aimee Malnoske.
Cost: $40/student (some scholarships are available if needed. Talk to Aimee about this.)

Canvas and Chocolates

Local artist Laura Lagstrom will encourage your creative side as we paint a canvas together. Polly Andrews will share her gift of storytelling as we enjoy a light lunch. This event is for both men and women high school age and above. Invite a friend. The cost is $30 for supplies. There will also be an opportunity to make a donation to Royal Family KIDS Anchorage camp, a local camp for kids in foster care.
