Our History

  • Community Covenant Church was born in the hearts of a faithful few in the 1980s.
  • Patiently waiting and praying for God’s timing, this group began meeting for Bible studies and then worship from 1993-95.
  • July 1995, Pastor Mark Meredith came and the church began meeting publicly on October 29, 1995 at Gruening Middle School.
  • Through continued growth and pressure from the school district to find another location, the church purchased land, built the current facility and began meeting in the current facility in March 2000.
  • January 2003, the Children’s Ministry expansion space was dedicated and opened.
  • In April 2008, the most recent expansion (with more classrooms, offices, new kitchen and multi-purpose room) was dedicated and opened.  A focus of this expansion was having space for various groups within the community to meet in our facility.
  • In June 2012, Pastor Mark Meredith, after seventeen years as Lead Pastor at Community Covenant Church, left to follow a sense of calling to another church in another area.  Pastor Brad Bergfalk is the Transitional Lead Pastor and the Lead Pastor Search Team is actively praying, discerning and search for the next Lead Pastor.
  • Throughout this history, our connection with the broader Evangelical Covenant Church has been important and helps shape who we are.
  • More importantly, God has been faithful at each step as we seek to follow His lead in sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with our world.
